Don’t miss this opportunity! Assistant Director of Programs and Events Michael Burks has performed many concerts on the BTV stage, but tonight’s concert is extra special as he is joined by his sister Scharlene Galloway from Nashville, Tenn. More than 22 years have passed since Michael and Scharlene have shared the same stage for a concert, and tonight will be extraordinary! They will be joined by Michael’s good friend and pianist Willie Ming of West Fork, Ark. and sister-in-law Dawn Lance of Siloam Springs, Ark. This talented foursome will present a gospel music showcase in true Southern Gospel fashion. Scharlene was lead singer for popular gospel group The Galloways before retiring in 2013. Michael was a founding vocalist with The Galloways and traveled with them from 1995 to 2000 – and Willie was the group’s pianist for many years. The Galloways were nominated in 2000 for the Singing News Fans Awards “Horizon Group of the Year” and in 2004 for the Singing News Fan Awards “Trio of the Year.” They were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2000. Willie recently joined a new group, Folenius, and completed a solo piano project, Hymns. His CD will be available for purchase after the concert in the lobby for $15. Dawn’s singing career began at age 6 and she has been involved with church worship teams for many years. You are sure to be blessed and inspired as they share their love for music with you.
