John R. Clark is a distinguished professor emeritus of horticulture, who spent his career at the University of Arkansas in the fruit breeding program from 1980 through 2022. Crops he worked with included blackberries, table grapes, wine and muscadine grapes, blueberries and peaches/nectarines. Clark has developed more than 80 varieties of various fruits. His honors and recognition include induction into the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame, the Impact Award by the National Association of Plant Breeders, the Chad Finn Ambassador Award of the American Pomological Society – and the Distinguished Service Award from the North American Raspberry and Blackberry Association. Lecture will take place in the Performance Hall.
