In this two-part series, the first session, Understanding Dementia, provides foundational knowledge about dementia: what it is, common types and how it typically presents. Attendees will learn to recognize early signs and symptoms, understand the diagnostic process and gain insight into how dementia affects daily living and behavior. The second session, Caring for Individuals with Dementia, explores practical techniques for supporting individuals living with dementia. Topics include effective caregiving strategies, the importance of consistent routines, use of “All About Me” tools to personalize care, and an overview of various person-centered approaches to dementia care.
