The Magic of Ecuador

Tuesday, April 4  |  2:30pm  |

BTV resident Karen Crocker will share a most unusual and exciting trip she and her husband Thermon took to Ecuador – a breathtaking country in Latin America with vast natural and cultural wealth. Ecuador is in such tune with nature that its 2008 constitution was the first in the world to recognize and enforce the Rights of Nature. From the well-preserved historic center of Quito — that is home of the Avenue of Volcanoes — to an Amazon rainforest and interactions with Achuar, Ecuador’s native people, the Crockers’ trip was full of forays, canoe rides and sleeping under the stars in one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet.
